For all you Scrabble fans out there, TiVo® presents Wordsmith: an exercise in wordplay for all ages!
How do I start a game of Wordsmith?
From TiVo Central, select "Music, Photos & Showcases" and scroll to Wordsmith. This starts the Wordsmith menu. To begin immediately, select PLAY.
How does Wordsmith work?
You'll be presented with a game board featuring 84 letter tiles with point values on them, but only the top row is playable. As you select letters, pulling them off the top row, the tiles below move up into a useable position. Move the selection box with your remote's directional pad and choose your letters by pressing SELECT.
Word values are calculated as you build your word in the "Current Word" box in the upper left of the screen. A running score is kept in the "Total Score" box seen in the upper right. Scores are calculated as total points multiplied by the length of the word!
When you've completed your word, press THUMBS UP on your remote. If you make a mistake, press THUMBS DOWN to remove the last letter from your word. Press CLEAR if you want to delete the whole word. Wordsmith will let you know when you've built a useable word by flashing the THUMBS UP icon next to the board.
Press PLAY at any time to start a new game.
Keep in mind that words must be at least three letters in length, and the dictionary in use is the extended Scrabble Dictionary.
